Are you ready for COP 19? We are!
Global climate talks are back in the picture. The 19th United Nations Climate Summit is being organized between the 11th and 22nd of November 2013 in Warsaw. Hopes are high, participating countries are expected to outline key milestones achievements in curbing greenhouse gas emissions and finally lay the ground for an enforceable global partnership by 2015.
The CCAFS team (Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security) of the CGIAR will we part of the official agenda and will discuss with key decision-makers around the world lessons learned from building National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and identify medium and long-term needs for further action. More information about this 2-day workshop (November 13-14) can be found on the CCAFS website and the COP 19 agenda.
NAPs will also be the main topic of discussion during an official side-event orgnized by CCAFS (CGIAR) on November 15 (see attached flyer).
As a side event of the COP 19 the CIAT/CCAFS and the Collaborative Programme on Forests (CPF) will convene the Global Landscapes Forum where participants will debate the role of agriculture and forests in mitigating and adapting to climate change.
