Climate change research galore! CCAFS annual report released
The CCAFS research program just released their first annual report, boldly titled “World’s largest coalition of researchers on climate change, agriculture and food security gears up!”. DAPA is a proud and very active member of CCAFS, with CIAT being the lead centre for the initiative, and myself playing a role as theme leader for adapting to progressive climate change.
The report highlights the many fascinating initiatives that started out in 2010, including research on crop forecasting, analogue modelling methods, and a range of action research projects on the ground in our three target regions; East Africa, West Africa and the Indo-Gangetic Plains. Perhaps most impressive of all has been the outreach strategy, which has brought a range of major partners to the table and together we are aligned towards a common agenda. CCAFS is also well and truly engaged in the climate change policy world, ensuring that agriculture gets on the map in the international negotiations.
