To reduce gender inequalities, especially in terms of access to resources and information, in a way that empowers poor women and men.
Involving both male and female farmers is essential to improving agricultural research. Currently we are working to reduce gender inequalities so that both women and men can better adapt to climate change. However, in the near future we will be expanding to include gender research in other areas of DAPA and across the CIAT research areas. We believe that women’s empowerment and gender equality is essential in order to achieve the overall CGIAR development goals of reduced poverty, increased food security, improved nutrition and health, and sustainably managing resources.
