Geographic targeting efforts to reduce micronutrient deficiency

This new article (in Spanish) in the Pan American Journal of Public Health is the first of two recently published articles on geographic targeting of biofortification initiatives.  Led by CIAT’s Fredy Monserrate (formerly DAPA and now with the bean program), this work developed a protocol for analyzing secondary data needed to target biofortification interventions to local areas with significant malnutrition problems, substantial poverty and crops that are the focus of efforts to increase micronutrient content.  For more information on bioforitification in Latin America and the Caribbean, see the AgroSalud website
