The Global Soil Partnership

This week in Rome the Global Soil Partnership met at FAO Headquarters. The partnership facilitates the participation of organizations and countries worldwide in efforts toward sustainable management of soil resources for food security and climate change adaptation and mitigation. CIAT leads a key effort in this field in Africa — the Africa Soil Information Service (AfSIS). Now, in Latin America, CIAT is beginning a new effort to collaborate with our Latin American colleagues in developing soil information resources for sustainable development. A new project supported by FAO will work with partners throughout the region on data for understanding soils and for digital soil mapping. The TSBF-Latin America team and DAPA researchers will join forces in this new effort. Stay tuned…
